Ward 9 is home to some of Edmonton’s most vibrant, connected, and promising communities. From historic Fort Edmonton Park in the north to the ever-expanding Heritage Valley, our ward traverses many decades of this city’s history. At the heart of our neighborhood is the spectacular Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre, which shines as a sports, fitness and cultural hub for all. Bounded by the North Saskatchewan River Valley on the north and west and by Whitemud Creek on the northeast, with many local parks in between, Ward 9 has no shortage of natural greenspace. The ward’s southern boundary is 41 Ave Southwest, which is also the municipal boundary shared with Leduc County, reflecting the City of Edmonton’s ongoing economic and population growth. South of Anthony Henday Drive, the Heritage Valley and adjacent areas continue to see remarkable growth, with a future hospital recently announced by the Government of Alberta and ETS transit developments already in progress.
Ward 9 is a proud home to many of southwest Edmonton’s most active and inclusive community leagues. Find yours here or select from the list below!
