Biography

Tim Cartmell was first elected to Edmonton City Council in 2017, bringing his dedication to community, engineering expertise, and commitment to public service. Born and raised in Edmonton, Tim and his wife Cathy have made their home in South Edmonton, where they raised their three adult children.

As a Professional Engineer and small business owner, Tim has a background in structural design and project management, having worked on major building projects like Edmonton's Expo Centre and multiple seniors' lodges for the Greater Edmonton Foundation. Before serving on Council, he held roles with Alberta’s Treasury Board, APEGA, and several consulting engineering firms, providing him with a strong foundation in both public and private sectors.

As Councillor, Tim has been a staunch advocate for infrastructure improvements in Southwest Edmonton. His efforts have contributed to significant road projects, including the Terwillegar Drive Expansion, Rabbit Hill Road twinning, and the widening of the Anthony Henday, enhancing mobility and connectivity for local residents.
